This website is dedicated to the men and women who have served the Town of Huron over the years,  the families having roots extending back to the settlement days of the early 1800s, and to the people who call Historic Huron Home.

The 10th Anniversary of the Association of Public Historians of New York State (APHNYS) was celebrated in 2009 with the creation of a legacy project to showcase the history of APHNYS members’ communities.   The rich and fascinating history of New York State’s villages, towns, cities, boroughs, and counties are the threads that create a tapestry of the Empire State’s heritage.  This idea was the foundation of the APHNYS Heritage Quilt. Members of the Association were asked to create a 12″ x 12″ quilt square to represent their community.  This embroidered quilt square was sewn by Florence Chapin of Huron, New York. Carol Flint was Town of Huron Historian. The image of this quilt square is used as the logo for the Town of Huron.
